I am now here in Spain but when living in England always went out collecting stinging nettles and used them as a soup and a vegetable - my mother always said they cleansed the blood!

Small world, we were regulars at stunning
St Julian's in Billingshurst for years, happy memories! I've come late to your fabulous books, hugely enjoyed, and just watched the recording with Rick Stein of your wild boar lunch, looked superb!, so enjoyed seeing El Valero in the flesh so to speak. Looking forward enormously to LAST DAYS OF THE BUS CLUB! and warm best wishes, FT

Nettle soup is indeed delicious! We arrived back at our farm in Bulgaria the other day to abundant chickweed, fat hen, dock, dandelions...perfect for a green soup I thought. But unfortunately the rest of the family don't yet share my penchant for wild greens...I'm working on them. Perhaps some fresh cream and croutons were the missing ingredients.

By the way, was it a tear of laughter, or one of sudden emotion?
